ATM Machine reinstated at Jersey Airport

Two new initiatives aimed at enhancing the passenger journey experience at the Airport and Harbour have recently been implemented by Ports of Jersey.
The ability for non-departing passengers to withdraw cash at Jersey Airport is once again possible with the recent reinstallation of a new ATM in the Arrivals Terminal.
For some time the only cash machine facility available at the Airport was for departing passengers in the airside lounge despite Ports of Jersey having made numerous approaches to potential operators to provide a providers; all of which were unsuccessful as the low volume of transactions made means that an ATM is not financially viable for them.
Towards the end of 2016 Ports of Jersey sought public views as to the need for an ATM machine in this location and as a result of feedback, has decided to operate the service itself, working closely with Jersey Post to provide the facility, which will dispense Jersey notes. Says Group Commercial Manager for Ports of Jersey, Paul Holley, "Despite many approaches, we were unable to source an alternative external operator for the service but Ports of Jersey strongly believes that the provision of a cash facility in a public area of the terminal is important to our customers so we have taken the decision to operate this service ourselves".
In addition, Ports of Jersey has also invested in new baggage trolleys at both the Airport and Elizabeth Harbour as a result of valuable customer feedback.
The old trolleys were last replaced more than 20 years ago with many of them showing their age and having been repaired over the years, finding replacement parts was almost impossible. The new trolleys are more lightweight to handle and are capable of carrying larger loads, conforming to the latest standards as expected. A number of the old trolleys are now being upcycled for use behind the scenes by business partners.
These latest enhancements are a significant investment on the part of Ports of Jersey to improve the overall passenger journey experience and further enhancements, based on passenger feedback will be implemented over the coming months.
