Welcome to Jerseyairport.com

Thank you for taking the time to read the following important information. It is our intention that passengers' journey through Jersey Airport should be as smooth and as pleasant as possible. However, strict security measures do remain in place and by paying special attention in advance as to what items you are permitted to carry will not only hasten your transit through security it will also help to avoid the disappointment of items being refused carriage.

The safety and security of all our passengers and staff remain our highest priority.  We do appreciate that security can seem inconvenient at times, but Jersey Airport, together with our partner airlines and businesses are always striving to ensure that you have a safe and trouble-free journey as possible.

Jersey Airport aims to provide an efficient service.  However, on occasions and especially during busy periods it may be that you will have to queue for short periods at check-in and security search.  We endeavour to keep these queues to a minimum, so please help us to help you:

REQUIREMENTS AND ADVICE

Before departure
Before departing for the airport please check your flight is on time and confirm what time your airline requires you to check-in.  Check-in desks usually open 2 hours before departure, although this can sometimes be less for inter-island flights. Please ensure you are aware of and understand the weight restrictions that apply to your luggage (most airlines apply extra charges) and, the restiction on the size and number of pieces piece of hand luggage, before your pass through security. Once you pass though security you are free to buy and fly.

Boarding Control and Security Search
To reach your aircraft you will first be required to pass through security control where your boarding card will be inspected and both you and your hand luggage screened. Please have your boarding card ready for presentation at the Boarding Gate.

At security search you need to remove all
jackets (including blazers and suit jackets) and
coats and place them with your hand luggage
    (including handbags, cameras, mobile phones,
calculators, keys, etc) in trays provided. All lap
tops must be removed from their handling case
    for separate screening.

All liquids, up to a max of 100ml per item must
be placed in a re-sealable transparent plastic
    bag, no larger than 20cms x 20cms (8 x 8 ins),
and presented separately for screening. These items will be subject to a liquid testing process. No other larger sized liquids, are permitted through security (see details above).

If you are unsure of any items on your person, please speak to the security agent on duty.

Passenger Search
Passengers pass through an archway metal detector, which is safe for all persons to pass through, including pregnant women.  However, if you have any concerns you can request a hand search. Passengers with pacemakers and wheelchair users will be hand searched. All passengers who set of the alarm will be hand search.  In addition, some passengers and/or flights will be selected for additional random searches at security control.

Please do not feel offended if you are searched, this procedure is necessary to ensure you and your fellow passengers’ safety and security.

Hand Bag Search
You can help us to reduce the queues at security control by ensuring that you do not pack prohibited items in your hand luggage. The following items must not be packed in your hand luggage but can be carried in your hold luggage instead.
