Jersey Airport prepares for 'Battle 2019'

From Jersey Airport,
01 August 2019

With just a week to go until the Island plays host to one of the largest and most colourful events of the summer, Ports of Jersey is once again planning its own traditional floral welcome for arriving passengers at Jersey Airport as part of the Battle of Flowers celebrations.

This coming Saturday 03 August a number of arriving passengers, many of who are holidaying in the Island specifically to attend the floral event will be personally greeted in the arrivals terminal by the 2019 Battle of Flowers Ambassador, Danielle Noble-Devenney, accompanied by her consort and junior ambassadors who will be handing our floral leis and flowers.

Passenger Services Manager for Ports of Jersey, Maria Le Tiec (herself a former Miss Battle of Flowers) says, “This floral greeting has become something of a tradition at the Airport and I remember doing it myself way back in 2002 when I held the title. Many of our passengers are holidaying in the island specifically for the Battle Parades so being met by the Ambassadors adds that special personal touch and it’s a great way to get Battle Week underway!”

The Battle of Flowers Ambassadors are due to be in the Airport Arrivals Terminal on Saturday 03 August between 12:30pm-3:30pm (approx.)
