Airport Safety Week

Airport Safety Week is nearly upon as and we have a selection of training session and activities available to Ports of Jersey staff and business partners, see the list below and links to posters for more information.

Monday 13th May

De-escalation Training
How to deal with disruptive passengers or just to improve your skills, join a de-escalation training session. This is an 1 hour taster session and front facing staff are encouraged to attend.
Sessions run all day, see poster for session times.

Launch of Hidden Disabilities initiative
Terminal (landside) throughout the day - General information on the scheme available all day.

Tuesday 14th May

Wildlife Management Workshop and Equipment
Learn about how our wildlife risks are managed and get to operate some of the equipment used under the supervision of our fire-fighers.
How well do you know your airfield birds? Find out with their ‘just for fun’ bird quiz!

Wednesday 15th May

‘Spot the Defect’ competition
ATC Carpark from 09:00 - 13:00  /  Find the faults on the vehicle and you could win £100 pounds of ATF Fuel vouchers!

Alzheimer’s & Dementia Training
Alzheimer’s training sessions are being held on how to best assist passengers travelling with this disability.
Sessions run all day,

Thursday 16th May

Tour of Air Traffic Control Remote Towe
Located at the PoJ Engineering facility, your chance to check out this ground-breaking new technology.
Two 25 minute sessions at 10:00 and 13:00 / Transport will be provided to and from the terminal.

Friday 17th May

De-Fib Station / Basic First Aid Techniques
New AED units have been installed throughout the terminal and ARFFS are running workshops for staff and passengers to gain the knowledge and confidence to use one should it ever be required. 
Drop in between 13:00 - 17:00

Sunday 19th May

Walk the Runway
Join the Jersey Airport Rescue & Fire Fighting Service on a runway inspection and learn what objects they look for and the damage they could cause, see the runway from a different perspective and check out the fire station while you’re there.
Time: 08:30 - 11:00
