Flying drones safely in Jersey

Using a drone

Drone use is growing at a rapid rate across the UK and our skies are some of the busiest anywhere in the world. When you fly a drone or any unmanned aircraft in the Channel Islands, it is your responsibility to be aware of the rules that are in place to keep everyone safe.

It is illegal to fly any drone at any time within restricted zones unless you have permission from Air Traffic Control.

Steps in the Civil Aviation Authority’s Drone Code include:

  • Don’t fly near airports or airfields
  • Remember to stay below 400ft (120m)
  • Observe your drone at all times – stay 150ft (approx 50m) away from people and property
  • Never fly near aircraft
  • Enjoy responsibly
