Direct flights for summer 2022 announced
From Jersey Airport
16th September 2021
After a successful summer of flights from Jersey, FlyDirect is expanding its business and offering more flights than ever before. Next summer, the company is introducing direct flights to the Mediterranean from Guernsey and the Isle of Man, offering more islanders a dependable way to travel abroad safely and conveniently.
In Jersey, the service will return next summer, operating on Saturdays between 7 May and 29 October. Flights will leave Jersey and fly direct to Palma Airport in Majorca and Malaga Airport on the Costa del Sol.
Islanders will once again be able to travel abroad without the inconvenience of stopping off at a UK airport. Customers will be able to book flights or inclusive holiday packages at a range of hotels and apartments in Majorca, providing a compelling level of choice. The tour operator’s ‘COVID-19 Refund Promise’ allows customers to book with confidence knowing they can move their booking or receive a full refund should any border restrictions or Foreign Office advice change and they are unable to operate the flights as planned.
Travel Group Managing Director Robert Mackenzie said, “We are really excited to provide this dedicated service for the people of Jersey. It’s no secret that travelling through major airports such as Gatwick has become increasingly trying for Jersey residents, and the added concern of COVID-19 has made some reconsider whether to travel.
“Islanders can feel secure knowing that they’re travelling with a regulated and well-established provider with extensive experience of providing exceptional customer service.”
In 2022, FlyDirect will continue to partner with BA CityFlyer, a subsidiary of British Airways. Customers who flew with FlyDirect this summer will be familiar with the comfort of the Embraer 190 jet aircraft as well as the on-board service of British Airways. Flights to Majorca take around 2 hours, whilst to Malaga the flying time is around 2 hours 30 minutes.
Flights will go on sale later this month and customers will be able to book online through www.flydirect.co.uk or over the phone. More information will follow today’s announcement, including the date that flights will go on sale.
