Macmillan Cancer Support Jersey have entered into a partnership with Ports of Jersey to deliver one of their pilot sun cream stations to the airport, for Swissport ground staff to use while working outdoors.

Operations and Communications Manager at Macmillan Jersey, Kevin Alway, said: “We’re very happy to welcome Ports of Jersey as early adopters of our pilot suncream campaign. While discussing their needs it became obvious that Ports of Jersey’s culture aligns with ours, and their decision to provide sunscreen to Swissport ground staff demonstrates a working environment where their people are at the core of business decisions.

“Cancer doesn’t discriminate, and with one in two people hearing the words ‘you have cancer’ in their lifetimes, we’re happy to provide Swissport with a way for their team to be sun-safe this summer.”

Head of Customer Experience for Ports of Jersey, Sarah-Louise Stubbs, said: “We are proud to be in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support Jersey.  While discussing the sunscreen campaign with the Macmillan team it became apparent that our Swissport ground-handling colleagues would benefit from a sunscreen station this summer. We are delighted to be early adopters of this fantastic campaign, and to highlight the outstanding work that Macmillan do across our Island. Providing emotional, practical and wellbeing support is invaluable and has touched many of us in one form or another here at Ports.”
