New airlinks to Cardiff & Doncaster announced
From Jersey Airport
10th June 2021
Direct air links this summer between Jersey and Cardiff along with one to Doncaster Sheffield are due to start as from Friday 09 July.
The twice weekly services to the two airports, which are being operated by low-cost carrier Wizz Air will operate on a Monday and Friday using an Airbus A321 200-type aircraft. Both services are expected to operate until late September 2021.
Announcing the news, Chief Executive Officer for Ports of Jersey, Matt Thomas, says, “We are delighted to welcome another partner airline, Wizz Air to our increasing route network this summer. Cardiff and Doncaster have proved popular routes in the past. Therefore, it’s great to see the confidence shown in Jersey by Wizz Air in providing both residents and those wishing to holiday in the Island this summer an opportunity to reconnect.”
Senator Lyndon Farnham, Minister for Economic Development, Tourism, Sport & Culture says, “I warmly welcome the launch of the two new routes by Wizz Air to Cardiff and Doncaster. We have now successfully replaced all routes lost by the demise of FlyBe, which is testament to both the work of Ports of Jersey and the strength of Jersey as a destination. Wizz Air is a very welcome addition to the portfolio of airlines serving Jersey and I wish them every success’.
Fares start from just £17.99 one way and are now available to book online at wizzair.com or contact the airline’s call centre on 09 057 070 000
