Checking-in

Ensure you review your flight time and check-in time requirements with your airline, as these can vary depending on the airline or if your flight is scheduled or chartered. Check-in desks open two hours before the scheduled time of departure, but it can be less for inter-island flights.

Check with your airline gate closing time as this will vary from airline to airline.

Confirm your airline’s weight restrictions on your luggage, as you could pay extra charges if you are over the allowed maximum weight limit. You should also check the size and number of pieces of hand luggage you are allowed to take on board with you. There are airline specific baggage sizers in departures if you need to check your hand luggage.

Many airlines flying from Jersey only allow one item of hand luggage on board; a handbag or laptop, for example, may count as one item and you may be asked to place it in the hold at an additional cost to you.
