Twilight Bag Drop – a smarter start to your journey

Flying to London Heathrow on a morning British Airways flight? Make your travel day easier by dropping off your checked-in luggage the evening before you fly.

With Twilight Bag Drop, you can arrive on the day of travel knowing your bags have already been checked in, giving you one less thing to think about before your journey.

How it works

Before using Twilight Bag Drop, please make sure:

  • You’re travelling on a British Airways flight to London Heathrow departing before 12 noon the following day
  • You’ve checked in online with British Airways before arriving to the airport.
  • You have brought the passports for all passengers with checked-in luggage under the same booking
  • You visit the Twilight Bag Drop desk between 16:30 and 20:00 the evening before travel

Travelling as a family or group?

Only one person needs to attend to drop off the luggage, provided they bring the passports for everyone included in the booking.

Why use Twilight Bag Drop?

Perfect for those who:

  • Are travelling with family or friends
  • Have multiple or larger bags
  • Are travelling with sports equipment
  • Want more flexibility before travel
  • Prefer to spend less time checking in on the day

Convenient and free

  • Available daily from 16:30 to 20:00
  • Complimentary 30-minute parking in the airport Long Stay car park when dropping off your bags
  • Available on London Heathrow flights departing at 12noon the following day with British Airways only

Important information

Twilight Bag Drop does not change the recommended arrival times on the day of travel. Please continue to arrive:

  • 2 hours before departure for your flight or 1 hour 30 minutes before red-eye flights. This will allow enough time to clear security and reach your gate.

Looking ahead

Twilight Bag Drop is launching with British Airways Heathrow services, with plans to extend the service to additional routes in the future.

More flexibility, less hassle, and a smoother start to your journey.
