Jersey Airport prepares for busy Easter

Jersey Airport is gearing up for a busy ‘Easter get-away’ period. Between Wednesday (27 March) and Easter Monday (1 April) more than 30,000 passengers are expected to travel in and out of the Airport.

With a large number of flights, many departing within minutes of each other, passengers are advised to leave plenty of time to check in their hold luggage and clear security. There may be queues at busy times, but Ports of Jersey teams will ensure that everyone gets to their flights as quickly as possible.

Head of Security, Maria Le Tiec, said: “We are proud to be one of the first airports in the British Isles to have installed the new security screening equipment which allows liquids and electronic devices to remain in hand baggage. But we’d like to remind passengers that many UK airports are still in the process of installing the new system.

“Passengers should check what they can take through security at every airport they are travelling through. They may still need to transport liquid in 100ml containers in clear plastic bags at some airports.”

These processes vary between airports, and the advice is to follow instructions when going through security checks. Each airport’s website will provide information on its own security rules.
