From Thursday 30th July, Twilight Bag Drop enables passengers travelling to Heathrow on British Airways flights departing before 12 noon, to securely drop off their checked-in luggage the evening before travel. The service operates seven days a week from 16:30 to 20:00.
Passengers travelling to London Heathrow with British Airways can drop off their hold luggage the night before and get their journey off to a flying start. Dropping checked-in luggage the night before means, passengers can avoid the morning rush at check in and head straight through to departures. The service is particularly useful for families, groups, those customers who need a little more time as well as passengers travelling with multiple bags or sports equipment.
With more time to relax, passengers can choose how they want to spend their time in departures, where they can unwind in the No1 Lounge, shop or relax before their flight.
Jamie Loudon, Head of Terminal and Transformation at Jersey Airport, said: “Twilight Bag Drop is about making travel easier and more convenient for our customers. By giving passengers, the option to check in and drop off their hold luggage the evening before travel, it provides greater flexibility and removes part of the airport journey from the day of departure. Customers can arrive at the airport knowing their bags have already been processed, giving them more time to relax and focus on the start of their trip.”
As part of the service, passengers using Twilight Bag Drop can benefit from complimentary 30-minute parking in the airport’s long stay car park when dropping off their hold luggage the evening before departure.
Twilight Bag Drop is initially being introduced in partnership with British Airways for flights to London Heathrow, with plans to expand the service to additional airlines, destinations and selected charter operations as more carriers join the programme.
Passengers are reminded that using Twilight Bag Drop does not alter the recommended airport arrival times on the day of travel. Customers should continue to arrive at the airport at least two hours before departure, or 90 minutes before red eye flights, allowing sufficient time to head to departures make their way to their gate.
The introduction of Twilight Bag Drop forms part of Jersey Airport’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the passenger experience by providing greater flexibility, reducing queues at busy times, and helping customers start their journey with greater ease, confidence and convenience.
