Security incident at the Airport

Published: 05 March 2025

Latest update: 2pm

Jersey Airport has now been fully operational since 11.20am this morning, after a security incident prompted its evacuation at 6.30am.

Emergency services attended and we worked with the States of Jersey Police to manage the incident. Passengers were accommodated at Strive while the incident was dealt with, and staff from the airport’s Café Ube joined forces with Strive catering staff to look after the disrupted passengers. We’d like to thank Strive, the Aero Club and Café Ube for supporting operations this morning.

Some disruption to flights is expected to continue throughout the day, and passengers are asked to contact their airline to check on their amended travel arrangements. We will keep the airport open as long as needed to allow extra flights to get passengers to their destinations.

We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused and appreciate the cooperation and understanding of those passengers who were affected. We are grateful to our colleagues, and to teams at our airport partners like Swissport and the airlines, for stepping up to ease a difficult morning for passengers. Our top priority is always to ensure the safety and security of everyone at the airport.

An investigation into the incident will now take place.
