New Blue Islands route to Paris

Published: 14 February 2025

There’s been a positive response to the announcement that Blue Islands will be running a new twice-weekly service from Jersey to Paris this summer. The direct flights to Charles de Gaulle start on 22 May and will run on Mondays and Thursdays until 30 October, before returning in 2026.

Ports of Jersey’s Chief Executive, Matt Thomas, said: “We are thrilled to launch this new route to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport with Blue Islands.  It marks a significant milestone in enhancing our connectivity with Europe and will enable islanders to enjoy easy access to one of Europe’s most beautiful cities.  We are really pleased that there will now be direct access from Jersey Airport to fifteen European destinations in 2025.

“The route is being supported by the Government of Jersey’s business support package and will operate for at least the next two years.  We hope the route will prove popular with islanders and we will be working closely with Visit Jersey to promote the island to potential Parisian visitors.

“We’re delighted that Blue Islands has managed to launch this route with a really attractive price, so all I can say is – anyone for a weekend in Paris?”

Minister for Sustainable Economic Development, Deputy Kirsten Morel, had this response: “Route development funding demonstrates just how important connectivity is for Jersey’s visitor economy, as well as our wider economy and society.

“The two-year, £2 million funding will help Ports of Jersey to attract new airlines and secure new routes. It is being delivered in close partnership with Visit Jersey, whose two-year £4 million destination marketing grant will help them to increase Jersey’s visibility and appeal internationally. I welcome this work, and hope that this will lead the way for other airlines to establish new services to key European cities.”

Chief Executive of the Jersey Chamber of Commerce, Murray Norton, said: “Connectivity is critical for Jersey, for the Visitor Economy, Islanders and our business community.   Direct access to Paris’ main hub, Charles de Gaulle, is an important step forward for our local economy.  The route enables improved connectivity for islanders, both to Paris and beyond, alongside an exciting opportunity for French visitors to visit and explore the beauty of our island.

“We are particularly encouraged by the way Blue Islands, Ports of Jersey and Visit Jersey have come together, supported by Government’s Better Business Support Package, to launch this route. New tourists will support the visitor economy and reinforce the vital role of tourism and hospitality in Jersey’s prosperity.”
